'Sweets' or 'mithai' are very special and generally made from the pure ghee. The sweet shops and other retailers are busy preparing the special Diwali sweets which are very high in demand. But these sweets you can also make at home.

Drinking butter tea is a regular part of Tibetan life. Butter tea is made by mixing brick tea, ghee and salt together. Ghee, which looks like butter, is a kind of dairy product of fat abstracted from cow milk or sheep milk. Tibetan people like the ghee made of yak milk. When they make buttered tea, they mix boiled brick tea and ghee in a special can, add some salt, pour the mixed liquid into a pottery or metal teapot and finally heat up the buttered tea (but not boil it).



This sight is surely going to make your mouth water and hence it is common sense to quickly rush inside the restaurant, catch your seat and order one of the finger licking parathas. You have a choice from the onion, mushroom, baby corn, potato and several other varieties of parathas. And then you can also make your own combination of parathas. Along with the parathas the restaurant will serve you a curd preparation called the raita as well as black dal and chopped onions. You can then relish the parathas and also order one more plate. If you have come here in a group then it is best to order different types of parathas so that all of you can share and taste the different varieties.

Leave the heated ghee to cool for 10 to 20 minutes and then line a strainer with some cheese more info cloth and strain the ghee into clean containers (sterilized jars work great).

Take a sharp knife and cut a slit from the centre of the circle out to the edge. Put the knife down and take hold of one of the new edges and fold it back about two inches. Continue folding the same piece again and again until you end up with a flat but layered triangle.
